One of the stated purposes of the Rockwell Collins Retirees Association is to promote the welfare of the community. Many of our members contribute substantial time and energy to benefit our community by volunteering at various organizations. Among those are the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, fire and police departments, school systems and church activities.
One of the great opportunities of being retired is the chance to volunteer our time to provide guidance, support and companionship to those who could benefit from our experience or time.
Even though the organizations and people thoroughly appreciate the time and effort spent by those who volunteer, those who have done so often report they receive much more from the experience than they expected. They report it to be one of the most rewarding experiences they have ever had.
Not only does volunteering benefit the community and the volunteer, it can also be very cost effect to the organization. One volunteer hour is estimated to be worth about $20. I urge each of us to explore our communities and take the first step in volunteering.
Those who are already volunteering deserve our heartfelt thanks and continued support for doing a wonderful job. We applaud you.
Our Semi-Annual meetings are always open to spouses.
Please assist us by inviting any Rockwell Collins Retiree in the area that may not be getting our Bulletin.
Thanks to Our Hostess Committee |
Another group we want to express our gratitude and thanks to is our Hostess Committee organized by Janice Taylor and Bernice Toller. This group of Hostesses greets members, prepares the meeting room, handles name tags, arranges and serves the refreshments, sells rosters and collects the money to support the meetings and does an outstanding job at every meeting. We all greatly appreciate their support at each meeting. |
Member Contributions |
Contributions received at the meetings continues to play a major role in offsetting the expenses of this organization. When the baskets are passed please be generous. |
