Fixing To Stay

In May of 2000, the AARP released its landmark study “Fixing to Stay”. It points out that over 80% of those over age 45 desire to stay in their homes as long as possible, but a large percentage of those say that they either have or will need to make modifications to their homes to continue to live in them safely.
As a result of this Report, AARP and the NAHB established a course of study to equip builders and remodelers to understand the typical problems of working with America's aging housing stock and the maturing of the Boomer generation.
Bill Slease is a pioneer in the field of Universal Design to accommodate residents as they age to allow them to remain in their homes as long as they wish.  He has lectured on the subject and earned leadership positions in many Homebuilding organizations. 
Bill was a U.S. Navy officer during the Vietnam era, later earning an M.B.A. in corporate finance, and has an extensive background in real estate finance.  He is a second-generation homebuilder.  In the early 90’s he formed his own real estate firm focused on financing, land development and later construction.  Bill has held a Texas Real Estate Broker License for over 35 years and has a broad range of experience with both commercial and residential properties.
